Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston

This hotel has a fantastic location — very close to the city center and easy to get around. The staff were all friendly, and special thanks to Andy for helping with check-in and providing great service throughout my stay. Alos another staff who helped me during check out, I couldn't remember his name, only remember he just moved from Sydney. The hospitality from the staffs impressed me and level up my entire experience. Although the hotel shows a bit of history from the outside, the interior is clean and well-maintained. My room and bathroom had been renovated — the bathroom was bright, white, and spotless. Housekeeping came every day, which made the stay even more comfortable. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here and would definitely consider staying again next time!

I have to mention Doug the duty manager first. He was so lovely and professional and his ‘no problem’ attitude pretty much made my stay there. Thank you Doug 🙏 The hotel is very comfortable, if a bit faded, and in a perfect, quiet location in the centre of Launceston. Excellent buffet breakfast, spacious lobby, restaurant, bar, and even a good-sized secure car park nestled into one side of the hotel. The stunning Holy Trinity Church is just across the road, reminiscent of the old Christchurch Cathedral, NZ. This was the ideal stay for me. Happy vibe. Kind and helpful staff and an stones throw from restaurants, bars, good shops and interest points. Loved it.

The property was good, we were on the fifth floor which was great, I had requested a walk in shower as my husband and myself have back problems, so we were really pleased the hotel provided this for us. Thank you

Everything, the beds are extremely comfortable, we had the pleasure of 3 different rooms due to travel arrangements and then Cyclone Alfred extended our stay. The facilities, staff and location are excellent. 5 minutes walk in any direction takes you to Saturday market, City Park and York Square which leads into shopping precinct. Grand Chancellor would be my choice if staying in Launceston again. Also only 15 minute walk to Tamar River cruise Kiosk. We took advantage of Happy hour which is 1.5 hours, we dined at night and had the buffet breakfast a couple of times. I have stayed in Hotels in many countries and Grand Chancellor rates with the best. I have no hesitation in reviewing this hotel.

Good, clean rooms with expected amenities. Central location, close to shops, cafes and walks. Parking experience with the upgraded vehicle registration identification process works well. $10 dollar fee is arguably a rort to guests as we are paying for a room anyway. At least guests now have parks available on arrival instead of having to wait until office workers go home to free up spaces.
