Everything, the beds are extremely comfortable, we had the pleasure of 3 different rooms due to travel arrangements and then Cyclone Alfred extended our stay. The facilities, staff and location are excellent. 5 minutes walk in any direction takes you to Saturday market, City Park and York Square which leads into shopping precinct. Grand Chancellor would be my choice if staying in Launceston again. Also only 15 minute walk to Tamar River cruise Kiosk. We took advantage of Happy hour which is 1.5 hours, we dined at night and had the buffet breakfast a couple of times. I have stayed in Hotels in many countries and Grand Chancellor rates with the best. I have no hesitation in reviewing this hotel.

So lovely and clean and comfortable. The reception staff were so lovely and hospitable. It will be my home away from home always. The only recommendation I could make against the almost near perfect room, is that the window curtains could really do with an upgrade replacement. They are really crusty, and stale from the weather beaten sun and cost effective for a re-furbish. Otherwise, everything was lovely. It was a bit cheeky to expect us to pay for 2 bottles of water in the room. It made me giggle how dressed up they were. Come on, people aren’t silly, free water and maybe a decent assortment of tea and coffee with fresh milk please. Otherwise, outstanding accommodation

Our room was located on the 5th floor overlooking the carpark. We found the location excellent, a short walk into the town centre and then onto City Park at the end of the street. Also the Launceston Saturday Harvest market was on, literally across the street. (bonus). We walked to Stillwater restaurant a couple of k's away. Definitely easy and central. The restaurant for dinner the first night was amazing. The food exceeded our expectations. Also we found the staff to be very attentive, knowledgable and friendly.

I was happy with the staff and hotel. There was only one thing I wasn’t happy with- there was a heavy doona on the bed with nothing cooler as an option. Being February it’s warm and it isn’t suitable to have a heavy hot doona on the bed. It was a long uncomfortable night and I slept terrible. I spent the whole night going between hot winter doona and feeling too cold with only the sheet. There should be at least light blanket in the cupboard as an alternative to heavy hit doona which was very uncomfortable.

Cathryn

Good, clean rooms with expected amenities. Central location, close to shops, cafes and walks. Parking experience with the upgraded vehicle registration identification process works well. $10 dollar fee is arguably a rort to guests as we are paying for a room anyway. At least guests now have parks available on arrival instead of having to wait until office workers go home to free up spaces.
